Candle Stubs

The Window pays 1 coin each — the marketfolk use these daily.

Every vigil leaves its heel of wax. The dressing candles burn all night on the headstones and the sills, and by morning the yard is scattered with stubs — each one a few hours of somebody's remembering, cooled into a shape you can pocket.

The marketfolk melt them down for fresh tapers. Nothing solemn about it: wax is wax, and the vigil already happened.
